2008 UAEL Spring Leadership Conference - Sonoma, CA - May 1 to May 4, 2008
Spring Leadership Conference was a "Vintage" success!
A great hotel set in classic Sonoma county, perfect spring weather, a stimulating and informative program and the company of friends and colleagues – these were the highlights of our very successful spring conference. Attendance was very high, with a record number of guests.
Starting things off, golfers braved chilly morning weather but were rewarded with a terrific lunch at the clubhouse and a balmy afternoon. The reception that evening was packed to capacity. The excellent Sonoma wine flowed freely and continued through the rest of the conference.
The education program started with a keynote address by Latimer Asch, an early developer of today’s FICO scoring model. In this and follow-up sessions attendees learned how to use FICO scores to increase business and portfolio quality. Other topics covered the economy, managing and selling portfolios, employment practices and fraud detection.
On Saturday afternoon, attendees visited legendary local wineries and other wine country attractions, and the elegant Saturday evening reception in the barrel room of Sebastiani vineyards was the perfect close.
The conference received many compliments: “great setting,” “terrific program” “the best ever.”
Thanks to all, especially the terrific and hardworking UAEL staff. I look forward to seeing you all in Denver this coming September!
